How we met

The story of how we met may be told differently depending on who you talk to! We met at a Halloween Party almost 2 years ago. Chris and I talked for half of the party and really "hit it off". Well thats what Chris thought anyway. I thought nothing of our first encounter and a few days later I had a message on Facebook from him asking me if I wanted to go to Disneyland with a group of friends. Well I can never turn down a trip to Disneyland so I agreed. We continued these once a week dates for six months. The fact that we were "hanging out" was not well publicized so most people had no clue we were dating. Sometimes we would hang out in a group or just the two of us. Chris took me rock climbing, dinners, and hikes. He was quite a gentleman and I know we both appreciated the time to get to know each other. Well the time came for Chris to ask to make our weekly dates official as his girlfriend. At the time I was finishing up my Teaching Credential and working full time so with no idea where I would be teaching or even what my feelings were for him, I declined the offer as graciously as I could and told him that I was not ready for a relationship. Chris was of course incredibly understanding and he gave me space for a few months. During those months I got a teaching position in Carlsbad and moved to a house in Vista. Well moving meant my roommates and I need man power to move all our stuff from our apartment to our new house. My roommates convinced me to call Chris to ask him to help. I was reluctant to call because I thought he did not like me after I told him no. Chris  however was still interested and saw this as he said, as an "in" to meeting my parents and trying to pursue me once more. Little did I know, Chris postponed his trip to Hawaii to visit family to help me move! He is the Best! Well once my parents met him during the moving process, they fell in love! Both my Mom and Dad thought I was crazy for not dating him and made quite a case in Chris' favor. The more people saw Chris and I together the more they could see us as a couple. After helping me move Chris helped me move into my first classroom and took me on some of the most romantic dates I have ever been on. Some including, but not limited to off roading adventures at Palomar mountain, picnics, beach days, scuba diving, and beautiful hikes. My feelings towards him began to change rapidly and I realized that Chris was the most wonderful man in the entire world! Needless to say I was happy that he asked me once more to be his girlfriend and I accepted quickly! Well you know what they say, the rest is history! We have spent the last year in love and can't wait to live our lives together! This past year has been full of amazing adventures, laughs, trials, family, friends, and a lot of God's grace. We feel so blessed by God's hands in our relationship!
